The MentalHigh project is partnering with TUEBA lecturers to enhance their scientific research capabilities

On January 22, 2026, Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Business Administration organized a professional training workshop on the topic “Developing Scientific Research Skills and Research Projects with the Potential for International Publication”. The program was implemented within the framework of the MentalHigh Project that aims at enhancing the mental health of faculty members through the development of scientific research capabilities, supporting faculty in improving academic competence, reducing professional stress, and increasing a sense of self-control in their research work.

The workshop is a practical activity to enhance the scientific research capacity of faculty and researchers, gradually promoting the quality and quantity of international publications of TUEBA. At the same time, it is also an open academic space for faculty to share difficulties, resolve obstacles, and access effective and sustainable research methods – one of the core directions of the MentalHigh Project.

The workshop aims to equip faculty members with highly practical and applicable research skills, from idea generation and proposal development to project implementation and publication in prestigious international scientific journals. In addition, the program focuses on clarifying key issues such as selecting appropriate journals, peer review processes, ethical standards, and integrity in scientific publication, helping faculty members approach research in a systematic and proactive manner, and reducing psychological pressure during the publication process.

Attending the workshop were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Thi Thuy Phuong – Vice Rector, representatives of the leaders of Faculties, Departments, and Institutes, along with a large number of lecturers and researchers who wish to enhance their scientific research capacity.

In her opening remarks at the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Thi Thuy Phuong emphasized the central role of scientific research in the university’s development strategy, especially in the context of higher education increasingly aligning with international standards. The university also affirmed its commitment to encouraging and facilitating faculty members to proactively conduct research and publish scientific papers, considering this not only a criterion for improving training quality and academic prestige, but also a factor contributing to a positive work environment, reducing professional stress, and enhancing the mental health of faculty – in line with the spirit of the MentalHigh Project.

Continuing the program, the Workshop was honored to hear a presentation and in-depth training from Dr. Su Ngoc Diep – Lecturer at Holmesglen Institute, Melbourne (Australia). With many years of experience in teaching, research, and international publications, the speaker provided practical, up-to-date, and relevant perspectives on the research context of Vietnamese lecturers, helping participants approach research activities in a more systematic, clear, and confident manner.

The training focused on core issues such as: identifying and developing research ideas with academic value and novelty; structuring scientific papers according to international standards; strategies for selecting suitable journals; skills in handling peer reviews from international journals; as well as important considerations regarding research ethics and scientific publication. The sharing of experiences not only provided professional knowledge but also helped alleviate the apprehension and pressure of participating in international research and publication, thereby inspiring and fostering a proactive spirit and academic confidence among the faculty.

Through this training workshop, lecturers from Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Business Administration have the opportunity to exchange academic knowledge, update themselves on modern research trends, and gradually improve their capacity for integration in scientific research activities. This also demonstrates the efforts of the University and the MentalHigh Project in supporting lecturers, building a professional and humane academic environment, and aiming for sustainable development in both professional competence and mental health in the new era.
