Turku University of Applied Sciences (Turku UAS) is a higher education institute in Southwest Finland. It’s the fourth largest technical university in Finland, which aims to create solutions for a better tomorrow – both regionally and globally. Turku UAS offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in four faculties: technology, communications and transport; business and administration; arts and culture, and health care and social services. Studies are work-life oriented and combine theoretical studies and professional skills. There are over 12 000 degree programme students studying in Turku UAS. There are also a number of degree programmes in English for foreign students. The health care and social services graduates include ie. social services, nurses, public health nurses, paramedics, midwives, physiotherapists, etc.
The research, development and innovation (RDI) activities Turku UAS combine the creative and innovative ideas of students, the teachers’ expertise and the experience of project professionals. The Mental Health Promotion Research group consits of many professionals. Wide range of professionals is a base for a broad view of mental health, with a focus on primary, secondary and tertiary prevention. The aim of the research group is to promote mental health in different sectors through first-class research and development.
