As part of an EU funded project number 101082744 “Building Mental Health Capacity at Higher Education Institutes in Southeast Asia (MentalHigh)” which is led by HAW Hamburg and co-implemented by 10 university partners in Europe and Asia, an awareness raising event was organised by the project team at the Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry in December 14, 2024 to raise awareness about mental health among students and young staff.
The event is to provide TUAF’s students and young staff with fundamental knowledge about mental health, helping them recognize and address stress-related issues in their studies and daily lives. During the event, participants learned about mental health from presentations, quiz, game and group discussion. Speakers shared real-life stories and provided practical methods to improve mental well-being, such as maintaining a healthy lifestyle, fostering a positive mind-set, and seeking support when needed. The learning event also created an open space for students to discuss, share their emotions, and learn from one another, spreading the message that mental health is an essential factor for achieving success and happiness in life.
Through interactive activities, participants not only learn proactively but also feel more comfortable sharing their emotions and personal experiences. Additionally, participating in group games promotes teamwork, helps students develop communication skills, and strengthens social connections which are key factors in maintaining mental health.
