In the morning of 7th June 2025, Royal University of Phnom Penh successfully organized the Mental Health Event Calenda workshop on “Mental Health Awareness and The MentalHigh Study” within the framework of the MentalHigh Project, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union for the period 2023-2026.

The workshop was organized at Royal University of Phnom Penh, with the participation of 22 Master students from Psychology Department. The aim of the workshop was to increase participants’ understanding of mental health and how to used App (MentalHigh Shining Mind).
In the introduction, Assoc. Prof. Khann Sareth, Mentalhigh project coordinator of Royal University of Phnom Penh emphasized that Mental health plays a critical role in students’ academic success, social relationships, and overall well-being. In the MentalHigh project, we want to improve student mental health. Mental health is not just an academic issue—it is a foundation for life. When students feel understood and supported, they learn better, build stronger relationships, and contribute more confidently to their communities and to the nation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khann Sareth, Department of Psychology, Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), presented the purpose of mentalhigh. Supporting student mental health isn’t just about addressing crises it’s about creating environments where students feel safe, supported, and able to thrive. We want to help create mentally healthy universities in Cambodia and Vietnam.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kao Sovandara, Department of Psychology, Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), presented the Shining Mind application – a smartphone application that gives students access to valid mental health information. Digital mental health tools empower students to take charge of their well-being whenever and wherever they want to. We designed a mobile application and an online course specifically for students in Vietnam and Cambodia
