VUTED | CBW #5: Developing Digital Platforms to Enhance Mental Health Awareness for Students

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ MentalHigh project, Vinh University of Technology Education (VUTED) organized Capacity Building Workshop (CBW) #5 entitled “Developing Digital Platforms to Enhance Mental Health Awareness for Students.” The activity was implemented by the MentalHigh project team at VUTED in collaboration with lecturers from the Faculty of Information Technology, aiming to strengthen lecturers’ capacity to apply and guide the use of digital platforms to disseminate mental health knowledge to students.

In his remarks, Dr. Hồ Ngọc Vinh emphasized the important role of digital technologies in improving mental health literacy and student wellbeing in higher education. He also highlighted the contribution of lecturers from the Faculty of Information Technology in developing, disseminating, and guiding students in the use of digital platforms that support mental health awareness.

During the workshop, the project team introduced the development process, technical design, and key features of the two digital platforms MoodCare and Shining Mind, developed within the MentalHigh project to provide information and learning resources related to mental health for students. Through this activity, lecturers and staff had the opportunity to learn how these digital platforms can be used to share information, guide students, and encourage them to better understand mental health issues.

The discussion session was lively, with participants exchanging ideas on how digital platforms could support universities in providing accessible mental health information for students. Participants emphasized that through lecturers and university staff, these platforms can become effective tools to disseminate mental health knowledge and promote a supportive academic environment for students.

Through this CBW activity, VUTED continues to strengthen the capacity of lecturers and project members to promote mental health awareness and guide students in using digital platforms such as MoodCare and Shining Mind, contributing to the creation of a more supportive and student-centered learning environment.
