During the thematic session, MSc., MD. Nguyen Duc Tai from Nghe An Psychiatric Hospital presented practical insights into common mental health concerns among students. He highlighted early but often overlooked signs including mood changes, reduced motivation, sleep disturbances, and social withdrawal, as well as factors that prevent students from seeking help such as fear of judgment, social pressure, and limited awareness.

Dr. Nguyen Duc Tai presents the thematic content, discussing early warning signs and challenges faced by students.

Dr. Tai then introduced a concise “three-step initial support model,” emphasizing early observation, open and non-judgmental communication, and timely referral. Through practical examples and real classroom situations raised by lecturers, he provided clear guidance and underscored the importance of empathy, patience, and attentive listening in supporting students.
