DISCUSSION ON SHARING EXPERIENCES IN ADDRESSING WORKPLACE BURNOUT

In the context of Vietnam’s increasingly demanding higher education landscape, which emphasizes research, teaching, and fieldwork, faculty members often face burnout due to the pressures of heavy workloads, intensive research, student mentoring, and the continuous need to update their knowledge. To address this issue, on June 20, 2025, the Department of Forest Resources Management organized a seminar combining professional discussions with sharing experiences on addressing workplace burnout, supported by the MentalHigh project in which Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry participates. During the seminar, colleagues shared valuable insights, highlighting that effective time management is key. For instance, scheduling work reasonably and taking regular breaks to engage in outdoor activities such as hiking or gardening helps recharge energy and fosters a connection with nature, aligning with their professional expertise. Additionally, building a supportive network through group discussions or experience-sharing workshops can alleviate feelings of isolation. Regular physical exercise, maintaining a healthy diet, and seeking professional psychological support when needed further enhance mental well-being. These measures not only help faculty members overcome burnout but also improve work efficiency, contributing to the sustainable development of the department and faculty.
