On the morning of October 20, 2024, at the Nhan Van Hall, Thu Duc campus, the Talkshow “Don’t be shy” with the topic “Mental health issues of young people in the LGBTIQ+ community” was held by the Student Union of the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Cultural Studies in collaboration with the Mental High project. The talkshow attracted the participation of nearly 300 students from the faculties of the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Cultural Studies, the Faculty of Tourism, the Faculty of Psychology and others neighboring universities.
Part one of the program included content about SOGIESC and mental health issues by speaker Nguyen Oanh – Bachelor of Psychology, Master of Social Work. The program opened up intimate stories that were revealed for the first time, giving voice to the thoughts that many young people did not dare to share with their families and society. Following the program were the shares from transgender beauty Cam Dan, whose sharing inspired many students participating in the talk show. With the empathy from the speaker and all the students present in the hall, every moment became more meaningful than ever. With the participation of the guests who possess many years of experience accompanying programs on the mental health of LGBTI+ people, the talk show ‘Don’t be shy’ brought students knowledge about the LGBTIQ+ community and useful advice from leading psychologists.
