🌱On the morning of May 16, a very interesting event took place at the C0 building of the University of Education – the workshop Bí Ke Bau Nghe. This event is part of a series of activities within the framework of the project Raising Awareness of Mental Health in Universities in Southeast Asia (Mental High) MentalHigh of the University of Education, coordinated by the CRISP-E Institute. In particular, this workshop is also coordinated by IT’S T TIME – a pioneering transgender community organization.
✨ Accompanying this workshop are three extremely enthusiastic and witty speakers: Mr. Chu Thanh Ha, Ms. Kieu Hong and Mr. Quoc Anh. The speakers not only have rich professional knowledge and experience but also possess a close, easy-to-listen, easy-to-understand way of communicating.
🌱 The workshop “Bì ke bầu nghe” provided a safe and open space for everyone to learn about concepts related to gender, sex and gender diversity. Participants were able to exchange basic knowledge such as: what is gender, what is sex and how to distinguish between concepts such as biological sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.
🌱 In particular, the workshop focused on clarifying aspects related to the transgender community – people whose gender identity is different from the assigned sex at birth, the difficulties they encounter in their journey to live their true selves.
✨ The workshop helped participants better understand the challenges that transgender people are facing: from legal and medical barriers, to social prejudice and lack of support in daily life. This is an extremely meaningful activity that not only raises awareness but also evokes empathy, companionship and support for the transgender community in Vietnam towards a society that accepts diversity and respects uniqueness.
