Capacity Building Workshop No.6 on Digital Technology and Mental Wellbeing at VUTED

On 10 March 2026, Vinh University of Technology Education (VUTED) organized the sixth capacity building workshop titled “Smart Use of Digital Technology – Protecting and Enhancing Mental Health in Higher Education.” The event brought together lecturers, administrative staff and student support officers as part of the activities of the MentalHigh project, which aims to strengthen mental health awareness and promote a healthier academic environment in universities.

The workshop explored the relationship between digital technology use and mental wellbeing in higher education environments. As digital tools are increasingly used in teaching, communication and student management, participants discussed both the benefits and the challenges of intensive technology use in academic work.

Key topics included digital overload, blurred work–life boundaries, and responsible technology use in academic environments.

The workshop was conducted through a participatory approach combining presentations, experience sharing and group discussions. These activities allowed participants to reflect on their daily digital working practices and exchange ideas on managing technology use in academic environments.

The activity contributed to enhancing the capacity of VUTED staff to better understand the impact of digital technology on mental health and to support a healthier and more balanced academic environment.
